As young adults, we are starting to find our way and trying to make sure that we are doing GOD's will and not our own. It's amazing how as believers we fail to be obedient when we are told to stay in a certain situation or place or to move to a different location. GOD does gives us the ability to choose what we will do because he is patient and faithful. However, how much easier could life be in this world if we did the things that the Lord has asked of us to do or not to do. The amount of heartache, temptation, etc that could have been avoided.
The question I would ask you today: do you truly trust GOD in everything or only when you've done what you wanted to do first? We tend to run ahead of GOD then blame him for the outcome. GOD never said to date that person, go to that party, wear that outfit, etc. Today is the day that we must truly trust in GOD. Who else can we really depend on. He wants for us to come to him and pray about everything. Seek him in our decision making first before we get advice from family and friends. One way to know if something is of GOD's will is asking yourself whether this will be pleasing to GOD or to others or just to myself? Am I really doing this to bring him glory or to exalt myself? Trust me if you truly seek him first in everything, he will open your eyes to things you could never imagine. But there will be times that we are placed in an environment that is uncomfortable or told to stay somewhere that doesn't make us happy. At times we are placed in these situations because we have work to do. Someone in that place is in need of a kind word, a smile, kind gesture or simply to be heard and listened to. The places we are placed could be for us to be a light for someone else. For them to hear about Jesus Christ for the first time. The places we are told to go or to stay are the places that GOD's glory truly shines. Just think in the mist of us being obedient to GOD, he can use us to bless someone else and in turn allows GOD to trust us with more assignments and opportunities. How amazing would that be!
A quote I found, " When you find yourself in the position to help someone, be happy and feel blessed because GOD is answering that person's prayer through you. Our purpose on earth is not to get lost in the dark but to be a light to others, so that they may find their way!"
