GOD's Timing

"If we can’t have something by being truthful, then it’s not worth having."

  • I read this in a devotional from the Daughters of the King app (Check it out my Sisters in Christ)

Reflection

  • John 8:31-32 - if you abide in my word you are truly my disciples and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free

  • 1 John 1:6 - if we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

Have you ever wanted something and was willing to lie to get it or tell a little "white lie"? Have you ever stop to think if it was really meant to be yours it would be without lies, deceit and manipulation? We can want things so bad or want things to happen sooner than its suppose to that we're willing to do anything to get it without asking GOD first and making sure it's in his will for us.

The definition of worth (a noun) is the amount that could be achieved or produced in a specified time or the value equivalent to that of someone or something under consideration; the level at which someone or something deserves to be valued or rated.

Anything worth having will not happen overnight. The things of the Lord happen in his timing. He will give you all the tools and resources you need to get to where he wants you to be.

The reasons why we don't like to do things in GOD's timing:

1. We think GOD is taking too long.

2. " I can do this on my own" mentality

3. GOD already gave me the vision so this must be the way he wants me to get it.

4. Doubting GOD's promise

As GOD's children we have to realize that our mindset of time on this earth is not the same as GOD's time. Sometimes to wait 30 minutes is too long for us. How crazy is that. We have grown into a generation of being impatient and not willing to wait for anything. Anything worth having from GOD is worth waiting for. He either knows you're not ready for it right now or you may be allowing your fear and insecurity to stop the door from opening that GOD wants to open for you. That's why it is so important to pray continuously and seek him in your decisions. Be honest about your fears, doubts and insecurities. Trust me he already knows what is on your mind and in your heart but he wants you to seek him out, pray to him and talk to him. To depend on him to remove those feelings that are not of him. Once we stop trying to fix everything and truly allow GOD to work it out for us. You will be amazed how things work out in the most unexpected ways. So lay your burdens down. Allow GOD to move in your life. He is always worth the wait!!

Psalm 130:5-6 NIV

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.

Reflect on this scripture!

Have a great week. Love you dearly!
