Today marks exactly 6 months since I’ve become a resident of Texas! I can’t believe I actually moved to a new city, a new state and started a new job. I left my comfort zone and moved into uncomfortable territory but can you believe that GOD started preparing me for this moment almost three years ago. I came across a quote that states, “There’s no need to fear where you’re going when Jesus is going with you.” I couldn’t resist writing it on a sticky note and placing it on my study bible. It’s a quote I get to look at every single day and be reminded that Jesus Christ is always with me. He was with me before my move, during my move and settling down in my new normal. He has never left me!
Okay now back to the latest news on my journey. So I stated earlier that GOD started preparing me for this moment almost 3 years ago. One morning right before the sunrise, I was on my boyfriend’s balcony, reading my bible and devotional. Enjoying the cool fall breeze. As I was reading, a revelation came to me that the particular city I was in at the time would be where GOD would take me next on my journey. I was excited, anxious, nervous and uncertain all at the same time but the revelation remained in my spirit. Fast forward to 2018, I moved back in with my parents and started applying for jobs in the city that was revealed to me two years prior. After 6 months of applying for jobs, a particular position popped up in a certain area that I wanted to be in and the shift I wanted to work. I quickly applied and waited.
A recruiter called me the next morning to set up an interview in two weeks when I would actually be in Texas again. Interview day came and things went well. I was definitely nervous and sweating my hair out lol but my confidence did not waiver because I knew this was the place. They told me that they would let me know by next week if I got the position or not because they still had other people to interview. The next morning, I was awaken out of my sleep to a call from the recruiter. She asked how my interview went and I thought it went great. After my response, she preceded to tell me that they wanted to offer me the position! I was so happy and thankful. Not only that, she explained what the pay would be and that they would also pay for my relocation. After I got off the phone, I screamed for joy and just praised GOD continuously. It was now time to walk into the next assignment GOD had for me. He answered every prayer from the location, the pay, finding a apartment in an area that I desired as well as not having to be in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend any longer.
I must admit that during those 6 months of waiting and applying, it was definitely a trying time. But it was also a time for preparation, growth, understanding and leaning on my faith in GOD and his promise. Since moving, new challenges have come my way but I try my best to focus on GOD, what he has done and what he will continue to do. I really get to figure out what I really want to do and like to do now that I’m in a new city away from the comforts of my home town. To get to know me more. To get to know what I need and what I want and if those things line up with what GOD desires and wills for my life. I know most people wouldn’t move or would be nervous to move away from everything you’ve grown up with but I say step out on faith.
If GOD tells you to move, take heed to what he is telling you. It may not necessarily be moving out of state but moving to a new city within the same state, starting a new job, leaving a broken relationship or starting a new relationship. We never know what or who GOD will place on our path to bless or to be blessed by them when we’re obedient to his calling on our lives. We all have a purpose in this world but our assignments and locations may change but our purpose remains the same. Great words that I heard recently in my time here in Texas. My purpose hasn’t changed it was just time to move on to the next assignment that happen to be in a new place! I hope my story helps you in some way. As always, be blessed and if you need prayer don’t hesitate to leave a prayer request and I’ll be sure to reach out. Check back next month for a new blog entry. Have a great week and month!
1 Peter 4:10
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of GOD’s varied grace.” We all have received a purpose as a well a gift to be used to serve GOD by serving others!
